College campuses have a reputation for episodes of rapid binge drinking (which often happens on a bet or a dare); this type of drinking is especially dangerous because the victim can ingest a fatal dose of alcohol before they become unconscious.
Car crashes are the leading cause of death among people ages 15 to 20, and approximately 1,900 people under 21 die each year from car crashes involving underage alcohol consumption.
